Human physiology is the inseparable part of cosmic physiology.
The rays and elements of the cosmos contribute in the physical
and mental constitution of an individual. Cosmos,
in Vedic vision is lively and reflects all the possible modes of qualities
and dispositions through its different celestial agencies as
constellations, signs and planets. These celestial agencies at any specific
point of place and time through their respective positions render specific
kind of qualities and dispositions. If we prepare the horoscope of an
individual for his date, time and place of birth, it is possible
to define in detail his mental, physical setup and general tendencies of events
through out the life. Though the cosmos is infinite, Vedic
seers have minimized the range of influences

* Surya (Sun): Surya,
being at the centre of the planetary system, is the source
of vital energy and represents soul in the human beings. He enjoys the status
of king in the planetary cabinet and thus symbolizes all the
royal qualities. The relationships with the
government, government officials, administrative ability,
sense of self respect, position in the society are judged from the
positional strength of Surya. All the planets
are born of Surya hence he represents Father in Social relationship.
He rules over east. His element is fire, Satvik (pure) in nature.
His color is dark red, gem stone is Ruby. His metal is copper
and pungent in taste. In physiological context
he rules over bone, bile, heart, brain, head and eyes. * Chandra (Moon): Chandra
represents mind in cosmic physiology and
is Queen in Planetary cabinet. Individuals mental
evolution, emotions, feelings and sensitivity
depend on the strength of Chandra.
In sociological relationship Chandra is mother. Since Chandra has
waxing and waning character she signifies
a changing mood. In human physiology she represents blood, breast, saliva, womb,
water lymphatic and glandular system. Chandra rules over North-West, nature
is Satvik, color is white, and sex is female. One can improve
his power of Chandra by wearing Pearl. Chandra's taste is salt and element is
Water. * Mangal (Mars): Manga l
is the commander-in-chief in planetary cabinet.
He denotes physical force vital energy, passion, valor, aggressiveness
and qualities of leadership. In sociological relationship
he represents younger brothers and sisters. In human physiology he represents
marrow, bile, ears, nose, forehead, fiber and muscular
tissues. His nature is Tamas (ignorant nature,
dark) and sex is male. His direction is
south and gemstone is Coral. Elementally he represents fire. * Budh (Mercury): Budh
is the crown prince in the planetary cabinet. It represents high
speed, mathematical proportion and intellectuality. Budh is fond
of fun, pleasant speech, well versed and
highly informative. In sociological relationship Budh
represents friends and maternal side. In human
physiology he represents abdomen, tongue, skin, nerve centers
and muscular tissues. Sex is eunuch. His quality is Rajas and direction
is north. Color is green, gemstone is Emerald. Elementally he represents
Earth. * Guru (Jupiter): Guru
is the minister in planetary
cabinet. He denotes expansion,
pure-intelligence, knowledge, universal harmony, generosity and
wealth. He is adept in politics and
gaining favor from the government. In sociological relationship
he represents children, elder brother, sister, and husband for women. In human
physiology he represents fat, phlegm, thighs, flesh and arterial
system. His sex is male. His quality is
Satvik, color is golden. Gemstone is yellow sapphire. Elementally he represents
ether. * Shukra (Venus): Shukra
is also a minister in the planetary
cabinet. He represents love, luxury, aesthetic sense, cleanliness and
all the beautiful things. He controls space, electricity,
emotion, sex, and sexual drive. Being the preceptor of Demons
Shukra is adept in manipulating the situations in his
favor. In his sociological aspects he represents lady friends and
wife for men. In human physiology he
controls ovaries, generative system, kidneys, water and semen.
His sex is female. Quality is Rajas, humor is Vata and Kapha. His gemstone is
Diamond and element is water. Shukra rules over South-East direction. * Shani (Saturn): Shani
holds the position of a servant in
the planetary cabinet. He represents lower class people and relationship with
them. His mental disposition is deep philosophical with s trong likes
and dislikes. Time and life principles are governed by him and are easily
prone to melancholy and depression. He creates
delays and restrictions. He makes the people work
hard to achieve their goals. In human physiology
he represents feet, nervous system, wind and knees. sex is eunuch. Shani's
color is blue, gemstone is blue sapphire. His direction is west. * Rahu and Ketu: Rahu
and Ketu also hold the position of servant
in planetary cabinet. They don't have physical existence. They are just the
ascending and descending nodes of moon. Their shadow falls on earth and
creates strong influence. Rahu mostly imbibes the qualities of Shani
and Ketu that of Mangal. They denote
destructive forces such as dissolution and disintegration. Rahu has more of
these qualities. He is also considered to be a deceptive planet.
Ketu, while great malefic, is also called
as Moksha-Karaka and Gyan-karaka. Sometimes they cause
such diseases which are difficult to diagnose. Their motion is always retrograde.
Rahu is female and Ketu is eunuch. His quality
is Tamas. Gem stone of Rahu is Gomed
(Garnet) and Ketu's is Vaidhurya (Cats eye).
